David Barg, conductor; Joel Fan, piano Stravinsky, Concerto in D, ‘Basel’ Shostakovich, Piano Concerto No. 1 in c minor, Op. 35 Tchaikovsky, Serenade for Strings in C Major, Op. 48 Stravinsky’s neo-classical Basel Concerto and Shostakovich’s youthfully exuberant first piano concerto are rarely-heard knockouts.
